SurveyorSuite support

Get in touch, find help inside the app, or read quick answers to the questions we hear most. This page covers the mobile app and the web app.

Contact us

Email is the quickest way to reach us. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Email

[email protected]

Please write from the email address you use to sign in, so we can find your account. Don’t include your password.

It helps if you tell us

  • What you were trying to do, and what happened instead.
  • Your device and its operating system version, for example your iPhone model and iOS version.
  • Any error message or error code the app showed.
  • A screenshot, if that makes it clearer.

Getting help inside the app

Where to look depends on whether you’re using the mobile app or the web app.

In the mobile app

  • Settings tab. Tap Settings at the right of the bottom bar to check which account you’re signed in to, turn Biometric unlock on or off (if your phone supports it), sign out, or export what’s saved on your phone. Open settings in your browser takes you to your full account settings on the web, where branding, templates, phrases and your team are managed. It needs an internet connection, and you may be asked to sign in again there.
  • The sync “?”. When you’re online and changes are waiting to sync, a banner appears above the bottom bar. Tap ? for a short explanation and a list of exactly what’s waiting, tap Sync now to send it, or dismiss the banner with the cross.
  • Report a problem. If the Reports tab shows “We couldn’t load your reports”, tap Retry. If that doesn’t clear it, tap Report a problem to send us the error code with a note of what happened.
  • Voice shorthand. On a Quick Notes screen, tap Voice shorthand to see the spoken commands you can use while dictating.

On the web

  • How To. Sign in at app.surveyorsuite.co.uk, then choose How To at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar (on a short screen, open Help & feedback first). It’s a searchable guide to using SurveyorSuite: type a keyword into Search help topics, or browse by section.
  • Request a Feature and Report a Bug. Both buttons sit just above How To in the sidebar (accounts in the beta see Beta feedback instead). Report a Bug sends us your description together with the page, browser and device you were using.

Common how-tos

Short answers for the mobile app. Names in bold are the labels you’ll see on screen.

Signing in

  • Open the app and sign in with the email address and password for your SurveyorSuite account. The app signs in to an existing account; it can’t create one.
  • Signing in needs an internet connection. Once you’re signed in, you can open the app and keep working without one.
  • If your account has two-factor authentication turned on, you’ll be asked for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
  • On phones that support it, the app offers Face ID or fingerprint unlock after you sign in. Change it any time under Settings → Account → Biometric unlock.
  • Forgotten your password? Reset it on the web at app.surveyorsuite.co.uk/forgot-password, then sign in to the app with the new one.
  • To sign out, go to Settings → Account → Sign out.

Working offline and syncing

  • The SurveyorSuite mobile app works offline: site notes, photos and report editing are saved on the phone and sync when you're back online. The web app needs an internet connection.
  • A few things need a connection: signing in, generating a PDF or Word file, drafting a report from your notes with Generate report (it reads Saved — generate when online until you’re back online), and opening your settings in the browser.
  • The pill at the top of the Reports tab shows where you stand: All synced, Syncing…, Changes pending, Offline · saved or Sync failed. Tap it to sync.
  • When you’re back online, check the pill. If it shows Changes pending, tap it, or tap Sync now on the Offline changes need syncing banner, to bring everything up to date.
  • Before you sign out for good, switch phones or delete the app, check the pill says All synced. Anything that hasn’t synced exists only on that phone.
  • If the same report was edited in two places, a Sync Conflicts screen asks you to choose Keep Mine or Keep Theirs. The version you don’t keep is archived for 30 days.

Photos

  • In a report, tap Photo on a section or item, then choose Take a photo, Choose from library or Open photo manager to manage every photo in the report.
  • After each shot, Discard it, Keep it, or Keep & take another.
  • In Quick Notes, use the camera button beside Dictate. Each photo is marked in your note at the point you took it.
  • The first time, allow camera and photo library access when your phone asks. If you said no, switch them on in your phone’s Settings.
  • Photos taken offline stay on your phone until they’ve synced. When you’re back online, the Photos need syncing banner shows what’s waiting; tap Sync now to send it.

Dictation

  • Tap the small microphone on a text field, speak, then tap it again to stop. In Quick Notes, tap Dictate, then Stop when you’re done.
  • Quick Notes shows Listening… while it hears you, and Undo last dictation if you want to take back what you just dictated.
  • The first time, allow microphone and speech recognition access when your phone asks.
  • Dictation uses your phone's speech recognition; whether it works without signal depends on your device. SurveyorSuite never receives the audio; only the text is saved. See our Privacy Policy.

Exporting a report

  • Open the report and tap Export in the header.
  • Enter the Reviewer Name, say whether AI was used and how, and tick I confirm this report is accurate and ready for export. Customise design is optional.
  • Tap Generate Report. When it’s ready you can Open PDF or Share PDF, and Open Word or Share Word.
  • If anything required is missing, the sheet lists it under Missing required fields, and Generate Report stays greyed out until it’s filled in.
  • Generating, opening and sharing a PDF all need an internet connection. To reopen the PDF of an exported report later, tap the three dots beside it on the Reports tab, then Open PDF or Share PDF.
  • The PDF is the finished, branded version. The Word file is there if you need to edit, and may have minor formatting differences.

Sharing with your team

  • Sharing is for team accounts, and it’s managed on the web. The mobile app shows you what’s been shared with you.
  • An owner or admin invites people and sets what they can do under Settings → Team & permissions on the web.
  • To share a report, open it on the web and choose Manage roles at the bottom of the section list. Set the audience to Team so everyone in your firm can see it, or give access to individual people. What you can change depends on your role and your firm’s settings; if you only see Roles, you can see who has access but not change it.
  • Reports shared with you appear on your Reports tab labelled Shared · can edit or Shared · view-only. Once there are shared reports, a Mine | Team switch lets you filter between your own reports and your team’s.
  • A view-only report opens read-only. Ask the person who shared it, or a firm admin, for edit access.

Account and data

You can ask us to delete your account, or to send you a copy of your data.

  • How to ask. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and say whether you want account deletion or a data export. You can also write to [email protected], the address in our Privacy Policy. We may need to confirm your identity first.
  • What happens next. Some records have to be kept for legal or audit reasons, and timings depend on your account. Our Privacy Policy sets out what we keep and for how long (see Data Retention) and your rights (see Your Rights).
  • A copy of what’s on your phone. In the mobile app, go to Settings → Sync & devices → Export my data. It creates a ZIP of every report, photo and note saved on that phone, including anything that hasn’t synced yet, and it doesn’t need an internet connection.

Still stuck? Email [email protected] and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
